The farm has been in our family for over 100 years. It started out as a produce farm with ancestral names of McDaniel, Benton, and Sims. Under our name, Sims, the farm became a dairy farm from 1946-2004. Because of increased population and the aroma of the dairy, our family decided to shut down the dairy in 2004. Now we are a sod farm year round. In 2013, our family decided to add U-pick or We-pick strawberries to the farm. Seasonally, we sell strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and sweet corn. We recently started selling USDA labeled and inspected meat.
Sims Family Farm is run by Bernard, Janet, and son, Kevin. We are hands-on managers who work in the fields every day. Our family strives for excellence in every aspect of the farm whether we are growing sod, cows, fruits, or vegetables. Our products are the highest quality available.
Enjoy what April showers brings to the farm. Spring kicks off our U-Pick season with strawberries in April and May. The farm is very busy growing our summer picks including sweet corn, blueberries and blackberries.
Come pick directly from the farm. Summer favorites include strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and sweet corn. Bring a hat and some sunscreen and pick directly off our fields. If you wish, you can also just drop by and choose from our We-Pick selection.
As the evening air becomes a little crisper, our berry and corn season comes to an end. We turn our attention to baling hay and continue our excellence in sod. Our pasture-Raised Grain Supplemented beef is always available.
As our season winds down in winter, the planning begins for the next year. In addition, we still have our beef that would be great in homemade beef stew or have a roast for Christmas dinner.
