Welcome to the Farm
Sims Family Farm is run by Bernard, Janet, and son Kevin. We are hands-on managers who work in the fields every day. Our family strives for excellence in every aspect of the farm whether we are growing sod, cows, fruits, or vegetables. Our products are the highest quality available.
Our family-run farm sells fescue and Bermuda sod, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, sweet corn, and high-quality USDA beef.
The farm has been in our family for over 100 years. It started out as a produce farm with ancestral names of McDaniel, Benton, and Sims. Under our name, Sims, the farm became a dairy from 1946-2004. Because of increased population and the aroma of the dairy, our family decided to shut down the dairy in 2004.
Now we are a sod farm year round. In 2013, our family decided to add You Pick or We Pick strawberries to the farm. Seasonally, we sell strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and sweet corn. We recently started selling USDA labeled and inspected meat.
Our Fruit & Vegetable Season has ended until spring of 2017.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00

Enjoy what April showers bring to the farm. Come pick strawberries directly from the plants! Spring kicks off our You Pick season with strawberries in April and May. Bring a hat and some sunscreen and pick directly off our fields. If you wish, you can also just drop by and choose from our We-Pick selection of strawberries. During this time we are also very busy growing our summer picks which include sweet corn, blueberries, and blackberries. During the spring, we also begin to sell our Bermuda sod again as it comes out of dormancy.
Our summer favorites include blueberries, blackberries, and sweet corn (Peaches & Cream). Our blueberries are You-Pick only, so once again grab your hat and bug spray to come get some yummy blueberries. You can drop by and choose from our We-Pick selection of blackberries and sweet corn. We-Pick these from our fields and bring them to you because of fields are too far from the office.
As the evening air becomes a little crisper, our berry and corn season comes to an end. We turn our attention to baling hay and continue our excellence in sod. In the fall, we stop selling our Bermuda grass because it goes dormant, but we continue selling our Fescue grass all year long. Our pasture-Raised Grain Supplemented beef is always available.
As our season winds down in winter, the planning begins for the next year. We have fescue sod available, and our beef that would be great in warm homemade beef stew, or we have a delicious roast for Christmas dinner.
