Sims Sod Farm is owned and operated by Bernard Sims and his son Kevin, alongside Bernard’s wife Janet and Kevin’s wife Betsy. Today, the farm also includes the next generation—Bernard’s grandchildren, Zane and Madison—who work side by side with their family to continue the tradition.

100 Years on the Land—and Still Growing

Our family has been blessed to farm this land in Ringgold, GA, for more than a century. What began as a small produce farm, passed down through the McDaniel and Benton families, eventually became a dairy under the Sims name in 1946.

Bernard Sims managed the dairy for decades, raising livestock, growing hay, and leading the farm with the same strong work ethic passed down through generations.
A New Chapter
In 2004, Bernard and his sons, Kevin and Jeff, transitioned the farm to sod—a move that honored their agricultural roots while paving the way for a new chapter. From that point on, Sims Sod Farm began to grow—literally and figuratively.
